Haiti was completely destroyed. They will end up as a UN or US protectorate, cos now they they got no resources at all. Anyone cares about it here? I don't think so.. :?

Yup it looks like the US and UN will be babysitters for a few decades (sound like Iraq anyone? Only this time nature invaded them..), and because the modern world has such fence sitting do-nothing governments, no leader will have the balls to leave them the fuck alone and rebuild themselves.. and that's the only way they can rebuild their country's infrastructure, and slowly get back to normality. So all in all, our quick-fix aid work has doomed them for 20 years! :/

thats true. but who else than u.s. and u.n. is going to help them for their near future? china? i dont think so. im guessing there will be some kind of political revolution after haiti is rebuilt. its kind of worse than any war, just because of the fact that currently there is no infrastructure where they could even spread the resources they got in aid from other countries/organisations. its pretty bad, on the other hand, i read an article where some guy that works in constructioning said that every building on haiti was built from a cheaper, not so efficient concrete, and that everything was basically waiting for a disaster to happen. in communism, the companies are owned by the machine, which means there is no "boss" no "director" who would be responsible for any possible mistakes in the process, means the stuff being produced, on lower level of quality, is still being sold at the same price. haiti is out of communism since the end of ww2 as far as i know, but could be they still kept some formations from it
